    Choosing marine electronics and instruments

    Pick the screen size and features around how you boat. A chartplotter shows charts and your position, a fish finder adds sonar to find fish and structure, and many units combine both. Larger screens are easier to read on the water, but they need more room at the helm and more power.

    Check what else the unit needs to work. Transducers must match the sonar frequency and the mounting style (transom, through-hull or in-hull), and some units need a separate GPS antenna, network cables or a mapping card. Check the connector type on the unit before buying cables or accessories.

    For instruments and gauges, match the size of the cutout in your dash and the sender type, since senders and gauges from different makers are often not interchangeable.

    Do I need a separate transducer?

    Some fish finders include a transducer and others are sold without one. The product page lists what is in the box. If it says the unit is head only, you will need to buy a compatible transducer.

    How do I know a part is compatible with my unit?

    Check the size, thread, connector or mounting details in the product title and description against what you have, and look at the photos. If you are unsure, contact our support team and we will help you check before you order.

    What if the part does not fit?
