Belltech 5979 Muscle Car Rear Leaf Spring, 1" Drop – 1967–1981 Camaro & Firebird, 1968–1979 Nova (Each)

What it is

A direct-replacement multi-leaf rear spring for first- and second-generation F-bodies that sits the car one inch lower than stock while keeping the factory spring rate. New springs also cure the sag that most 40-year-old leaves have, so the "drop" on a tired car is often closer to level with a lower stance than a slammed look.

Fits

1967–1981 Camaro and Firebird, 1968–1979 Nova, 1975–1979 Skylark with the stock leaf-spring rear. One spring per side; buy two. Works with the stock shocks, though lowered shocks are a sensible pairing.

What's in the box

One leaf spring with silent-block bushings pressed in. No U-bolts, shackles or hardware.

Installation

Replace in pairs: support the axle, remove shackle and front eye bolts, swap the spring, use new U-bolts (not included) and torque to spec with the car at ride height. 2–3 hours for the pair with air tools; alignment unaffected on a solid axle.
