What it is

Molded rubber valve cover gaskets for the FE, a step up from the cork set that comes apart when the covers are removed. Rubber keeps its shape, seals a slightly bowed stamped cover and can be reused, which matters on an engine where the covers come off for every valve adjustment.

Fits

All FE engines 1958–1976, from the 352 to the 428, including the Mustang and Cougar 390/428 and FE trucks. Aftermarket cast aluminum covers with the stock pattern also use these.

Installation

Clean the cover and head rails, fit dry (no sealer, or a thin smear to hold the gasket to the cover), torque evenly and do not over-tighten; rubber seals at low torque. Twenty minutes per side.
