MBRP S5001409 Armor Plus 3" Muffler Bypass Pipe, T409 Stainless – 2019–2024 Silverado 1500 / Sierra 1500 5.3L

What it is

A straight-through pipe that replaces the factory muffler on the 2019-and-newer 5.3L Silverado and Sierra. The stock muffler is both the main restriction and the main silencer in these trucks; removing it gives the 5.3 a deeper, louder note without touching the rest of the system. The pipe is mandrel-bent T409 stainless from MBRP's Armor Plus line, so the bends are smooth inside and the pipe will not rust through like aluminized steel.

Fits

2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L V8: regular, double and crew cab, all bed lengths. It does not fit the 2.7L turbo, the 3.0L Duramax diesel or the 6.2L. For 2014–2018 trucks MBRP lists a different part.

Installation

Bolt-on at the factory muffler position; no cutting or welding on the stock system. About an hour on a lift or jack stands with basic hand tools. Expect a noticeably louder truck at idle and under load; interior drone is moderate on the 5.3 with cylinder deactivation.
