Omix-ADA 12301.03 Windshield Glass-to-Frame Seal – 1949–1975 Jeep CJ-3A, CJ-3B, CJ-5, CJ-6, M38, M38A1

What it is

The rubber channel that holds the windshield glass in the fold-down frame of the flat-fender and early round-fender Jeeps. On these trucks the glass sits in a one-piece rubber seal, and when it hardens the glass rattles and leaks at the bottom corners. This is the molded replacement cut to the frame's profile.

Fits

Willys and Kaiser Jeeps with the one-piece windshield frame: CJ-3A (1949–53), CJ-3B (1953–66), CJ-5 and CJ-6 (1955–75) and the military M38 and M38A1. The 1976+ CJ-5/7 frame is different. This seals glass to frame only; the seal between frame and cowl is a separate part.

Installation

Glass out of the frame, old rubber out, new seal fitted to the glass edge, then glass and seal worked into the frame with a cord or soapy water. Two people and an afternoon; a glass shop can do it in an hour.
