Proform 67053 High-Torque Gear-Reduction Mini Starter, 4.41:1 – Pontiac & Oldsmobile V8 1965–1982

What it is

A compact gear-reduction starter that replaces the heavy factory unit on Pontiac and Olds V8s and spins a high-compression engine over faster, with 40–50% more cranking torque than stock. The small body also solves the header clearance problem that the big OE starter creates on most aftermarket headers.

Fits

Pontiac 326/350/389/400/421/428/455 and Oldsmobile 330/350/400/403/425/455 engines from 1965 to 1982 with the stock starter mounting; check your flexplate tooth count against the starter pinion.

Installation
