Wilwood 120-10937-RD D52 2-Piston Front Caliper, Red – 1968–1996 GM Cars & Trucks (1.04" Rotor)

What it is

Wilwood's forged aluminum version of the GM D52 caliper, the single-piston floating caliper used on most GM cars and light trucks from 1968 to 1996. It bolts to the stock bracket and runs the stock rotor, but replaces a heavy iron caliper that rusts and pits with two stainless pistons in a billet body, cutting unsprung weight by several pounds per corner and ending the seized-piston problem.

Fits

Vehicles that came with the D52 front caliper, which covers many 1968–1996 GM passenger cars and trucks: Camaro, Firebird, Chevelle, Nova, Impala, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Cutlass, C10/C1500 and more. The rotor must be 1.00–1.04 inches thick. It is a replacement caliper, not a kit: if your car has a different caliper or a thicker rotor, this is not the part.

Installation

Swap one for one at the stock bracket; reuse the factory banjo bolt or fit a new one, then bleed the system. Pair with new D52 pads and check that the hose clears the caliper body. Plan an hour per side plus bleeding.
